Today I have mainly been V5.0 (Part 3)

I hated lockdown.
I was in the special measures isolating group.
The only upside was I got delivery slots for groceries.
Apart from that I was in a 3rd floor flat living on my own and didn’t step past my front door for 13 weeks.
In the middle of that my Dad died on his own in hospital from Covid, and I couldn’t go to see him.
It was shit.
The only thing that kept me sane was work, which gave me some structure during the week, and this place.

I hated lockdown too. Because cunts, all London Buses went onto Saturday Duties Monday to Friday and Sunday duties on error… Sundays.

Weekend Duties are longer, so 70 hour weeks.

People drove like cunts, didn’t see any cunt.

The nature side of things was pleasant however. But wasn’t able to get out and enjoy it…

Absolutely loved lockdown, sunny hot weather pretty much May to Sept so spent the time drinking gin and rum in the garden listening to music, BBQ’ing and not having to talk to or deal with people.

I knows it called bathtub gin doesn’t mean you fill a bath with it

Excellent afternoon of tunes and chat with @edd9000. He’s got a really bloody enjoyable system in-situ currently: the ART / Naim combo just capital-‘W’ Works.

Threw multiple different genres and very variable recording quality at it and it all sounded good. He’s chosen my favourite generation of Naim kit: still has that legendry toe-tapping ‘PRAT’, but also proper fidelity in all other areas without being bright or strident.

That SME is rubbish tho’ and he needs to sell it to me…

In Brussels for a gig.

I haven’t been well for a couple of weeks and unfortunately I seem to have held it together for the train trip before collapsing like a burst sofa upon arrival

Never mind - a few 9% beers and I’m sure I’ll be ready to rock out with my cock out.

Getting the Panny MOTd. Failed last week due to OSR fog light not working. Being LED I needed the whole fucking light assembly replacing at a cost of £730. :sob: Coincidentally both rear lights were replaced new when I bought the car just under 2 years ago so is theoretically still under Porsche’s 2 year warranty if and it’s a big IF the (non Porsche) dealer can find the paperwork. Not holding my breath in this but :crossed_fingers:

While I was waiting for the MOT I was looking through a copy of WHF they had lying about. Strangely it was a copy from the future :man_shrugging:

80 years on and I haven’t read Primo Levi’s book, I This Is A Man. A holocaust survivors account that took some 20 years from initial publication in '47 to be recognised as one of the definitive texts on the holocaust. I will read it.

This poem prefaces that book, it’s short, so i have copied it below.

You who live safe
In your warm houses;
You who find on returning in the evening
Hot food and friendly faces:

Consider if this is a man
Who works in the mud
Who knows no peace
Who fights for a bit of bread
Who dies because of a yes and because of a no

Consider if this is a woman,
Without hair and without name
Without enough strength to remember
Vacant eyes and cold womb
Like a frog in the winter:

Reflect on the fact that this has happened:
These words I commend to you:
Inscribe them on your heart
When staying at home and going out,

Going to bed and rising up;
Repeat them to your children:
Or may your house fall down,
Illness bar your way,
Your loved ones turn away from you.

You don’t make people remember and learn from atrocities by threatening them with more

It’s a great book in fact the the other one is too

Down a wormhole,

You can ask Sheikh Assim Al Hakeem anything - he has all the answers to all stuff.

Like this guy worried about dying his hair or the guy who wants to make his wife wear a Burka in the house because she’s distracting him

No work got done today…

Record shaped present was indeed a record - Kraftwerk Remixes. Also Hel bought me this as I said I wanted a spotlight for the turntable that would fit in the room.

Its Ritchie’s.

It looks like one of @sjs Model 3s, apart from the metal side panel.
