You probably donā€™t want the reg. and PCN number on the internet.

If itā€™s any consolation I got stung for a 20-minute overstay in the on-street (sort of) car park over the road from my sisterā€™s a couple of weeks ago. Itā€™s 2 hours max and it seems that even applies at 16:30 on a Sunday afternoon when all the shops are shut and thereā€™s hardly anyone there. Theyā€™ve recently installed cameras and they never sleep.

Thanks Pete - Edited.

Actual role model.

De-rusting my French language ā€˜skillzā€™ innitā€¦

Along with taking every opportunity to speak french with colleagues and friends, I use this app.

My pedal board is gathering dust currently, I picked up a Gen 3 Katana 100 a couple of months ago - Iā€™m currently enjoying the novelty of asking chatgpt for the settings required to sound like insert song of choice. Absolutely nailed Johnny Marr - How Soon is now last weekend (cool song to play along with with).

Modern amp tech and digital modeling is bloody clever, iā€™d have probably stuck at guitar as a teenager had I had access to the kit and the tones that are available now for not much more than a decent night out. And youtube for free lessons.
Kids donā€™t know how lucky they are.

That said Iā€™ll get itchy feet for a valve amp again soon - quite fancy a DSL-40, totally inappropriate for home use but wevs. Always liked the look of Supro amps, will aim to try one.

Trying to avoid temptation of a further visit this evening to be honest.

For now lunch.

And now some matcha and desert with all sorts of strange but nice additions.

Putting a big coloureds wash on first thing because while itā€™s still cold and overcast itā€™s at least no longer 2C and covered in a blanket of some kind of revolting mizzle.

Bus up to Crystal Palace, passing yet more big trouble a-knockinā€™ for Thames Water

That wasnā€™t there yesterday. The winter has just been a steady stream of burst pipes around here. I think the whole area must be end-of-life (and Thames Water have invested precisely nothing).

Pub lunch where they surprised me with a set menu, two courses for Ā£18. Pork and harissa scotch egg, minute steak frites.

Iā€™m sure it wonā€™t be to the taste of many, but it was warm, tasty and cooked by someone other than me.

Then a walk back deliberately by the long route, down Sydenham Hill and along the south circular. Watched a fire engine bully his way through the traffic before turning, practically on two wheels, into one of the side housing estates.

Oh, and a young man stopped his Lime bike to tell me how much he liked my jacket

This thing

Itā€™s a most peculiar effect, the only garment Iā€™ve ever owned that if I go out wearing it I can almost guarantee that someone will pass a comment in the street.

Nice jacket and nice colour

Why do they think we are impressed by fire?

Several blasts of heat on a very cold night were most welcome.

Fuji San wishes you all a good morning. Taken 04:19 am UK time on the way back to Tokyo. Two more night than have to say goodbye.

I went back for a snoop around 4.30 (yes, I am the umarell of SE London) and counted seven Thames Water vans, a giant vacuum thing, a temporary accommodation Portakabin and floodlights - it was clear that something had gone Seriously Fucking Wrong.

This morning this was the lead item on the BBC London news as some customers in Crystal Palace still have no water. I hope the guys get good overtime for working through the night.

Just looked at the pictures. Is that at the top of Alleyn Road?

Yup.

Theyā€™ve shut it down between Church Approach and the junction with Alleyn Park / Paxton Green.

I thought youā€™d recognise it :slightly_smiling_face:
