Today I have mainly been V5.0

For the first time in a very long time, Ive been out day drinking. 4 pints and a g 'n t in the sun in Oxford.
Admittedly nothing to write home about there, however I fell asleep on the bus, missed my stop and had to walk a good mile home, feel like complete shit now. :upside_down_face:

That’s my mother.

She could pick a fight in an empty room.

And yes, regularly tried to haggle in charity shops.

You’ve confused me (not difficult these days, admittedly). Being from Folkestone myself (though I haven’t been back there for years), I seem to remember the harbour train service ending quite a few years ago?

Come to think of it, many of the things that once made Folkestone what it was also ended years ago…

Still, I have some fond memories…

Yes the station was partially restored and one side are bars onto the beach, and the other a market and food pop up area. Lovely on a warm day in August but suspect spends 8 months or more a year hardly used.

We visited the art area, Sandgate and Hythe. Was only a day trip but plan to return for an overnight stag and go down as far as Dungeness. We don’t drive but train to Folkestone from St Pancras takes less than an hour and 102 bus service along the cost is every 15 mins which is almost London frequencies.

Hythe to Dungeness Light Railway is a just a leisurely 20 minute walk from the harbour arms
Follow either toll road or the promenade both are lovely walks in the summer

Because the next customer is bound to ask the shop if they any bottom halves of trousers going cheap.

How things change. When I finally left Folkestone (more than 20 years ago) the whole place was dying on its arse. Pleased to know that some kind of resurgence is happening.

Jan’s birthday was on Thursday so I made sure I bought her a card. Our 46th wedding anniversary is on Monday so I planned ahead and bought a card for that too.

Some of you might remember that I have a history of forgetting this event so I felt smug.

Today drove up to near Leeds to visit the granddaughters.

Halfway there I realised I had forgotten to bring the fucking card.

She’s going to take the piss.
