Tools you have bought/desire

I bought these last year for his bed time - It seems to pacify him better than the nose bag but I do find a grown (If you can call him that) Man shouting ‘bot bot’ at 9pm every day somewhat disconcerting

you sure he doesnt want his nappy changing?

That you ever find anything disconcerting has come as something of a mild surprise…

Your pain. I feel it. Though so far this year I have dealt with it by completely ignoring it…

You at least have some alpacas for the field, and a ride on for the gardens. Quit your whinging :stuck_out_tongue:

You’ve probably missed my rare, mild criticism of the useless fucking furlumps, but alpacas are worse than shit at keeping paddocks in shape.

And the ride-on is fucked.

His ideas on personal hygiene do not ‘sit’ well with the Persian rugs. One of the many reasons he has to live in a kennel

After reading this thread a Bahco S330 socket set was acquired. Currently £35 on eBay from FFX

It’s very nice

I’m case anyone wants wheel nut sockets…

Operation clear shed has begun. Slow going as I don’t want to hire a skip.

I’m still not sure what to do to fix/replace it. It’s close to a boundary so can’t be taller than 2.5m.

While I like the idea of building something with an oak frame, the timber for the frame would be £3k+

:sob:

replace it with a climbing and absailing wall - obvious innit?

It’s probably better built than the current shed.
Maybe.

That would work for my ever expanding brewing interests :+1:

That might fit all the cnc machine I want. Maybe.

If things are tight why not get a pop up?

I hope this drill torque question is OK in here?

I have a Milwaukee brushless 60Nm combI drill and have been using it
successfully in the garden with a large auger bit to drill in potatoes and stuff in to the ground. There are two gears Low and High and the switch got stuck in the one position additionally it appeared to me that it was not producing the torque level that it was.

I sent it for repair stating I can’t change the gear and low torque it was returned to day with a new gearbox which fixed the gear issue. It seems to me that it still has only low torque because it does not drill in the ground like it did originally - I know the ground is harder but I can hold the drill one handed on the max torque setting without it causing it to twist my wrist (also hold the chuck by hand on max setting and cause the limiter to click . When I first got it I was sure that I needed to be very careful to use both hands to stop me hurting myself.

Can any one advise me if I should be able to stall a 60Nm drill by holding the chuck in my hand and pressing the start button ?

thanks

Worked for Tesla.

Doesn’t sound right to me - my £60 Ryobi would take the palm off my hand on maximum torque if I tried to grip the chuck.

mine as well

60N is (near enough) the force needed to hold up a 6kG weight (three 2 litre supermarket bottles full of pop). Imagine the following arrangement

You have hung the pop bottles from one end of a metre stick. You have put a bolt through the other end and gripped it in the chuck. You are holding the drill and looking into the page (screen). If the drill can generate a torque of 60Nm then that will be (just) enough to lift the pop bottles when you press the start button. Perhaps more helpfully, if you hold the chuck with the drill powered off and your grip can exert a torque of 60Nm on the chuck then you will be able to stop the pop bottles, at the other end of the stick, from falling.

I haven’t done the experiment, but if your grip is that strong then I wouldn’t want your hand round my throat. Or any other part of my anatomy.
