In the next week or so there’s the release of the Public Service Broadcasting live album, and also a collaborative album between Emiliana Torrini and The Colorists (also live). The pre-release stuff I’ve heard from both has sounded extremely promising.

I’ll be pretty happy to see the back of 2016 which seemed overly full of death, illness, bad news, moronic behaviour and some baffling decisions that go with hand-in-hand with democratic choice. I also think 2016 was a very, very average year for music in general and psychedelic music in particular. The psyche bubble may not have burst but it is being slowly deflated by mediocrity. For me the best five LPs of the year were:

  1. Cavern of Anti Matter: Void Beats/Invocation Trex
  2. Sula Bassana: Shipwrecked
