Chicks raised on pizza…
Snap from phone of a Sparrow Hawk?? Taking a pigeon. As you can see in the background another plume of feathers from a couple of days ago! Happy hunting
By the time I got upstairs to take a better shot it was just leaving!
That’s a Common Buzzard IMO
Interesting, did not know we had many round here. Its all Red Kites, although I guess as they don’t tend to take live prey it leaves lots of room for smaller predators.
Good spotting, cool!
Fingers crossed

Moved over the road but the Buzzard is still hunting! The Pidgeon was very must still alive for most of the feed!
That’s a Sparrowhawk
Oh FFS, I can’t keep up!
Well if nothing else, look at that tail pattern and compare it with the images I posted above.

The other one is a pigeon
Fucks sake, I don’t think I belong in this thread
Walter?
Don’t worry Rob I identified a red kite as a buzzard a few weeks ago doh and I pride myself on making sure the bird ID is right or don’t know, hate guessing - Paul’s towering presence and knowledge here keeps us on our toes and educates, even being quasi-polite when we’re numbnuts, which is very un AA-like
For over a week now I’ve had 2 adult Whimbrel hanging around my back garden. It is highly likely that they have fledged chicks in there and the parents constantly alarm call to divert us away from the house.
These were from an evening walk yesterday.
They definitely don’t like the presence of Hooded Crows in the area and continually harass them. The crows give not a single fuck.
Awesome…
Yeah, the almost stationary head is impressive.
