Out at Stodmarsh this morning; humid after a heavy storm - bitten to death by loads of mosquitoes within minutes so had to make a hasty retreat… caught some Reed Warblers before I packed my bags

Delighted to see that the pair of Red-throated Divers I’ve been watching closely (for several years now) have produced their usual complement of two chicks. Hopefully they’ll keep them safe from predators until they’re fully fledged

Driving (very slowly) back up from the little car park near Boggle Hole in Yorkshire a few weeks back, there’s a farm with peafowl - current car is a vivid shade of metallic blue, and this prompted the α-male of the flock to step out in front of us and display to what he presumably in his bird-brained way took to be some kind of rival interloper. 
Never got a camera handy for such moments!
