I do like a gannet plummet.
Love the gannet pictures. Gannets are beautiful birds and exhibit exhilarating feeding behaviour. They also remind me of my Stepdad. He always called me a gannet when having seconds at the dinner table. 
Went for a walk through the woods near Lopwell earlier. There were photographers all along the estuary . An Osprey had been sighted. No idea how rare they are here ?

Excellent shots Paul, - trip to Bempton is on my to-do list.
Meantime one from Canada, this time Red Crossbills at Pyramid Lake near Jasper. Jasper is still visibly damaged from the wildfires with vast tracts of forest burned and I wonder how much wildlife was lost and is still recovering - we saw Elk and deer but not so much birdlife, but it is midsummer.

There used to be a boat trip you could take from Bridlington, went on it once and it’s well worth it for close views of the local seabirds.
Nice Red Crossbill shot, I imagine you will have a decent chance of finding Two-barred Crossbill too (they will call them White-winged Crossbill) Quite common in N America but a mega rarity in the UK!

Out of the 14-16 breeding Arctic Skuas on the island, only one is an intermediate morph, they’re quite scarce.

Thanks Paul -didn’t get a chance to see much more in Jasper but I’ll keep an eye out. Meantime after two weeks saw my first Bald Headed eagle this morning, was feeling quite worried as they’re pretty common here.
