Definitely worth a trip and make sure you do the private rooms bit too, canāt remember the exact days you have to go for that, but itās limited numbers first come basis. But well worth waiting for.
The Hunterian museum is across the square and worth seeing whilst in the area.

And I agree, it has some lovely features but, itās fundamentally less comfortable to live in than a static caravan and will cost you two million quid for the privilege.

I noticed that the Lopwell ācafeā was Sale Agreed when I was down there the other day. I wonder whoās bought it and what their plans are, given that theyāve got to leave the car park free for day trippers.
I think that repair and maintenance bills may be several times the sale price, sadly

At the time the estimated refurb cost was £20m which will undoubtedly be a lot more by now. Increased material/labour costs and 4 or 5 years of further decay.
Even if you had the money to buy/refurb it, the locals have a significant say in any proposed future use.
I canāt see anyone taking all of that on.
