That & the late arriving ‘substitute’ incumbent was foisted on the electorate without having had the benefit of participating in a thorough & exacting selection process against other candidates, which might have given the electorate the chance to get to know them.
Sad to say the Democrats brought all of this on themselves (& the rest of us)

This is the mistake - they’re not decent people. You’d have to have completely cut yourself off from all outside information for the best part of 15 years to not know what he’s really like, in which case frankly you shouldn’t be voting. Or they do know what he’s like, and they’re ok with that, which is an immediate disqualifier for being a decent person.
