spotted maureens thread worked out so wondered if any ex thomas mayer users have any of the tv damper valves kicking around, whilst it doesnt matter which brand i ould like them all the same make and nos known to be good
any 801a or 10 / 10y valves also interested

I would approach them with an open mind . . . I’ve never once had a decent set of valves from them, but equally, their customer service has been very good - thankfully!
I may have been unlucky, but (for a lot of commonplace valve types at least) I think they and CVC have a lot of old stockpiled rejects that didn’t make the testing grade for military or industrial use, so it’s pot luck if what you get works/works-properly/lasts.
Nowadays I buy four times as many valves as I need and send the test-fails back.
I noticed billingtons have 10 nos for £90 which will last me forever and builds in a failures margin so if no one I trust has any I might get them (my set up uses 8 currently so about right)
Just had a look - 20 tubes for £90 - but it does state mixed manufacturers, tho’ they also say they’ll try and accommodate requests. At that price, it’d be daft not to.
Bought from them a few years ago and they seemed decent to deal with so will call tomorrow thanks (misread it as 10 for some reason, 20 should give a couple of sets of the same make
