Want to try a valve amp

Yea, must admit that I’m not struck on Copland gear

Definitive have an AI S700 in for £1k. And they are offering 20% off at the moment.

Cheers, saw that Mark. No phono.

Are you sure you are not trying to buy a unicorn?

Got a couple of options

Bought whatever the KT88 model was called for silly cheap years back - and with my “gift” for commerce still managed to make a loss on it - AND the cunt that bought it tried to scam me… The saddest part was that I really liked it - sounded great and looked good for what is after just a silver metal box. Should have kept the damned thing.

The dealer I was buying from agreed with me that it wasn’t that great in my system and gouged another £500 out of me for another amp he had for sale :grinning:

Dealers are pure evil / customers are all innocent victims. :+1:

Funnily enough, having said that I didn’t rate Copland, I’ve now just bought one, having been listening to a mates for the last hour or two.

I told him I was looking for a valve amp and he invited me around for a listen to his. Loved it, so bought one.

Hope it works with my speakers.

What were his speakers?

Audiovector R1 Sigs

87 dB, 8 Ω.

Mine are 87dB, 6Ω, in a tiny listening room (just over half the size of his), so will hopefully be OK :crossed_fingers:

We’ll see.
