Watch collection cull

The insanity HAS to take a break, so these are first to go:

  • All are full sets unless stated - boxes, packaging, cards and papers as received by me or the previous owner when new.
  • All watches that have been worn for any length of time have been carefully cleaned with appropriate cleaning agents, as have their straps.
  • All will be posted via Royal Mail (SD for the more valuable, signed-for for the cheapies), in plain cardboard boxes, well packed and at my expense.
  • UK only. PM to discuss.
  • There may be slight traces of use - e.g. very light marks on polished surfaces, but most of these are near-mint due to being part of a large collection worn on rotation, some are new and never left their boxes.

NB: Split payments are possible.

*very much not new apart from strap

JUNGHANS Pilots watch - £250

This is a pocket watch modified by the addition of lugs to turn it into a Large wristwatch. The Junghans movement has a service mark from 1936, so it pre-dates that.
The case is unmarked silver, or nickel-silver, with some beautiful period tooling in great nick.
The strap is nearly-new. I can supply a brand-new black NATO instead if wanted.

50mm case width ex crown
20mm lug width
Outer dust cover/back has crescent moon + crown mark to mid-left, [0.900] mid-right and 5613 at bottom inside it.
Inner dust cover has “METALL” above “o”, and “5613” again.
Movement has Junghans-star logo over “47” over “G” 072659 on edge

I will regret this above ALL others, but (and this is insane layered on insane) I don’t wear it because it’s just too fucking beautiful (to me) and I couldn’t bear to spoil it. So it is very close to as-new mint condition.

Crown: Signed knurled crown at 12 o’clock with pushers either side in a bullhead configuration.
Case Back: Solid screw down case case back with deep illustration.

This is a much MUCH nicer watch than the price suggests.

That’s all for now.

Quality watch for absolute peanuts. :+1:

Infinite scroll is infinite.

And there’s so much more…

Want is occurring and I don’t even like watches or even time in general.

The Glycine would be great if it was 38-39mm.

Hope this helps.

The MWC?

IWC 90s mechaquartz chrono energy. Me like.

Weird, in another life I knew Mike Margolis quite well.

No thanks, not for me…

You want the Straton for a proper Seiko Meca-Quartz movement.

That rabbit hole.

You want a proper Jack Russell to dig you out of it.

Fucking hell you have it bad! There are few appealing watches in that lot but all that would happen if I bought them is that they would move from gathering dust in your wardrobe, to doing the same in mine.
