My favorite massive attack sample, is that cannonball adderleys autumn leaves, became the Manfred Mann track “tribute”, which then became pretty much the full foundation for massive attacks “black milk”

I’ve seen him live twice now, once at Ronnie Scotts doing his own stuff, and then once down in Exeter playing Cuban music with a pre-existing band. For technical skill, the first gig was insane, but in some ways the Exeter gig was an incredible insight into a positive character. He was happy to be on stage and just play a shaker through a song because that’s what the music needed. No ego, no nothing. Despite plenty of signage in the venue making it clear they weren’t doing any of his solo stuff, some twats still shouted out asking for Red Baron too. Ejits.

Two of the greats there. Jack Johnson “Play guitar like you don’t know how to” MD to JMac. GS-H - we need him now.

Had both of them for years, but never on vinyl, WIA especially was a gaping hole in my GS-H vinyl collection

Some records have to be vinyl.

Let me know what you make of the new Decemberists - to me it felt like someone set out to make a pastiche of a Decemberists album.
