According to the Vintage Knob, the sixty 240v models that were imported into the UK were supplied with a ‘Resinamic Sound’ plinth in a battleship grey. From the armboard and the recess for the level at the front right in the photo that you posted, I think your deck is a UK model.
The plinth feels like smooth cold stone. You may be able to strip it back to a decent finish. It may even withstand machine polishing if the finish needs restoring after stripping. Worst case scenario would be to repaint. Here’s a photo of my deck before I sold the plinth.
Edit: if your deck is not 240v you may indeed have a black plinth underneath the paint.
A couple from the BBC gramophone auctions that happened earlier in the year. An old 1958 riverside pressing, and a copy of “replicas” I got for free when buying other stuff, as oddly, I don’t have a copy!
CD. Available on vinyl too, but little point as almost certainly a digital recording. Also consists of one 42.15 minute track. One for progsters to tap their feet to, lengthwise?
We Were Promised Jetpacks - Enjoy The View.
I’ve stuck with them but they’ve never quite regained the heights of These Four Walls.
Great album cover though.
