In two minds about opening mine - the price must have doubled since I ordered it!
Surprised they only made 3000 of them
I think its just 3000 of the numbered boxes, I suspect they’ll release non numbered copies of the individual albums at some point.
Yeah, my badly made point was that I think they could sell a lot more boxsets.
Rhino Hifi series have made a bit of a feature of doing limited runs to drive FOMO demand and consequently sold out a lot of recent releases and this is just a very high profile example.
Getting closer to fetching a knife and opening at least the outer box now!
Nosferatu
Analogue unboxing routine
Now selling on Discogs for ?
Discogs median is £348 but there’s only one in the UK from some joker asking £549
£320 on eBay
Seam splits in that set though
Sold/ completed listings might give you a better idea.
Or you could just post what the number is without giving me home work!
There’s a wide range last time I looked, £450 to £600+
I’ve taken the plunge and broken the shrink wrap to take a look at the records and sleeves. The quality of the box and the record sleeves is really top notch, Rhino have done a quality job in putting this together.
The feedback from buyers saying the sleeves are extremely tight appears accurate - I made the mistake of removing some of the liner notes on card and they are nigh on impossible to get back in. I’ve made a start by listening to Waiting For The Sun and I’ve little optimism that the record and sleeve will go back in
I like the first choice , for me their weakest
Not for me - Soft Parade is the last Doors album I reach for, not just because of the US TV special style musical arrangements, the songs largely are weaker IMO.
In terms of vinyl hifi repro a lot of buyers have reported that WFTS is the winner in terms of mastering out of a strong line up.
LA Woman will go on last cos as has been rehearsed many times, its my all time favourite and I own many many versions to compare it with.
Funnily enough , soft parade is a fave but yes I agree wfts needed most
