My Baby - Mounaiki - By the Bright of Night
Over the last few years Orbital have fully morphed into their own equivalent of Kraftwerk, producing remixes, limited edition box sets and remastered albums that were orginally released 30+yrs ago. They’re approx 1/3 of their way though the remastering of their ‘90s back cataloge.
Like many other middle age men who are, musically at least, partially living in the past, I can’t stop myself from buying them. I have 2 copies of their spendy 30 Something box set, one of which is sealed ![]()
This turned up today, Orbital Lush 3-1 & 3-2
£25 for a new 12” EP containing music (5 tracks) that already own.
And I’ve just ordered another, a limited run (1000 units worldwide) remastered pressing of the “now legedndary” 1993 John Peel Radio session that was orginally relased early in 1994 (which I already own twice, both the original vinyl and CD).
Whats most strange is that I’ve played it all to death mulitple times, through 6th form, uni, 20s 30s and my 40s - I’m becoming more enthralled with each year that passes.
I’m an Orbital fan boy, bit ‘kin weired tbh, but there you go.
Where’s the harm ? Respect the completist :not worthy
Just ordered the Hail to the Thief live LP.
Also available in red from Drift. Radiohead - Hail To The Thief (Live Recordings 2003-2009) – The Drift Record Shop
Cheers Paul, I didn’t realise that was being released. I’ve also spunked £65 on a Hardback book and some cards cause I’m a sucker for all things Radiohead…
Yep, might look at the book and cards. But for now just the Waste Store Blue copy.
King prawn splashers
Umbrella vinyl had an Edinburgh festival pop-up in the St James quarter
Too many tasty treats to pass up
For those who like The Unthanks this is out end of next month but limited to 500.
Just ordered my copy.
