Suspect that copy didn’t cost more to make than its sale price. Unlike the original of course.
Hopes for this one. I’d imagine that the original tapes are worse for wear but the original recording is still a Rolls Royce, even if I suspect that there are going to be a few minor drop outs.
If anyone gets this I’d be keen to see how it matches up to expectations. It’s the sort of record I’d like to buy once, and buy right!
Consolation prize for not getting into the gig.
Now I have to change my record player back to playing 45s ![]()
Got a copy sat at the local Rough Trade…
Interested in your opinion before I go and get it.
First impressions having just switched the stereo on and whacked this on, are pretty good. I think you’ll hopefully be impressed.
I do wonder what tape they’ve used as a source though.
Nice Japanese pressing
Managed to get the Acoustic Sounds version for £15 today, which was nice. Last copy in the shop was in for £18 but matey knocked off £3.
Between the three recent Rhino High Fidelity mono reissues and The Atlantic Years In Mono box set, I now have the full set of Coltrane’s Atlantic output in mono. Yay!
