Gin number 3, how did that happen?
My system of 70ml gin to a can of tonic works well when you don’t have too many…
1/2 a gill then.
A “double Irish” as the wife would call it.
Yeah I have a 35ml measure, and it makes me feel that my 70ml servings are a sensible double not an alkie’s treble

I looked up the gill on the internet and got:
1 cubic meter is equal to 7039.0159455708 gill [UK]
When I start thinking of booze by the cubic metre I know I need to be worried.

Clearly I’m too old.
The older English pub measure was 1/6 of a gill.
In Scotland it was usually 1/5, sometimes 1/4.
Roughly 25, 30, 35ml.
Apologies if I’ve got the wrong end of the stick and come off like I’m mansplaining.
I think I know what they measure as, but I don’t really have a feel for them. I only started drinking when 25ml was the standard at pubs, AFAIK

Whichever way you look at it, 25ml or 1/6 of a gill is a pathetic measure 
70ml is much more like it.
Who drinks that little in one glass? I reckon that is the reason for the downfall of the pub.
