Read an article about them the other day that may have been posted here but it turns out the radiation wasn’t too bad and they lived into their 70’s (which I guess is good for ruskieland)
I have absolutely no issue with it. I’m finding all the moaning about it, kind of predictable and boring. Yeah ok it was a bit rushed. But fundamentally things end, and I think something that had run that long, with that many threads to draw together, was always going to be tricky to bring to a conclusion. A certain percentage of people were always going to feel hard-done-by because their favourite character/plot didn’t end up the way they wanted it to. I was riveted by the final season, and while I could easily speculate about how this or that could’ve been done better, I chose not to overthink it, and just enjoy it for what it was anyway, which for me, was excellent.
The real issue is that the author can’t even finish it and he just has to write it.
How anyone expected the producers to film it without another ten to fifteen years of work (to do it justice), I don’t know.
It was going to end and they did it as much justice as they could.
I enjoyed it. Yes, it wasn’t all I wanted it to be, but it was still great and it’s very easy to criticise. My gut reaction at the end was good.
Stephen King nailed it when he said people don’t like endings.
just finishing Series 2, need a 2nd life to catch up with box sets…
I know what you mean. So little time to devote to these shows.
Stick with BB if you can though. Season 3 is so good.
Summer of Rockets. BBC2
Stylish cold war drama about a Jewish hearing aid manufacturer/electronics engineer. First episode and a lot of virtue signalling, but probably just to remind us how things were in the 40s/50s.
Keeley Hawes though, so it might well keep my attention…
Slow burner, innit?
Was watching her in that ‘What the Durrells did next’ programme the other night. She’s a lot more attractive au naturel than she ever is done up in period costume.
Like them like that, builds the interest rather than just impressing with crash bang wallop stuff. More likely to keep my attention.
Mum.
Secret life of pets , hilarious and good tonic
Decided it was time to start watching Killing Eve. Should have done it months ago.
First two episodes are superb.
Then it’s increasing silly.
And the end is almost like they ran out of ideas.
Worth a watch though.
You deserve a medal for going this long without knowing that she gets shot in the back with a knife
Bollocks
I did binge watch the lot at once.
Perhaps it was just exhaustion that made me flag badly as it went on.
I think the coherence and wit suffered later in the series, and the plot holes got larger…
Cool, I’m not after intellectual stimulation.
This one was peculiar though. Gill found it all extremely dumbed down. I thought it all felt like a stage play rather than a tv drama. Not exactly gripped so far.
Well there is the prequel series to look forward to…
Rush.
Watched Edge of Tomorrow last night. Surprisingly un-shit.
