Reminds me of the enjoyable film ‘The Dish’ from a few years back. While I realise they took some liberties with the facts of that story I hadn’t realised what an integral part Australia had played in receiving & relaying the signals.

I took Harry to see Free Guy today. Quite amusing in places and will appeal to gamers.
It did have one line which jarred a bit watching it in Plymouth 5 days after Keyham.
Some interesting inclusions near the end where Ryan Reynolds had obviously got permission* to borrow and use a few props belonging to the parent company. So out came a light sabre, Captain America’s shield and the Hulk’s fist.
*Apparently he gave a short list of the kinds of items they’d like to use & Disney came back & said ‘Yes’. So he said, ‘But which one?’ & they replied ‘All of them’.

Me too. I found it reasonably entertaining but missed a lot of the references that the 15 year old gamer in the family got.
Just finished a film about the Bloods and Cripps (made in America) in LA…. Followed by Inside Job, another film about the 2008 crisis.
America is rotten, utterly rotten from top to bottom, inside to out. And it’s corrupted every single country, especially us.

All that time and money and it didn’t sound like he was sat with a stack of records playing them. And one chair…
That’s not what I got from it. His health is now deteriorating but he’s seeing the bright side of spending more time at home with family and also able to enjoy the system.

Just watched “The Last Stand” on Amazon Prime ,it’s a WW2 film between Russians and Germans. Pretty long and with subtitles but quite enjoyable…

We watched The Father the other night. A sad tale of an elderly man’s decline into dementia through stages of euphoria, belligerence, confusion, paranoia, amnesia and various other types of mental turbulence. Brilliantly played by Anthony Hopkins with good support from Olivia Colman & others. Not as depressing as it sounds & well worth a watch. He deserved his Oscar.
Made Gill & I appreciate how lucky we were that none of our 4 parents went through that.

My Grandma had it and it was difficult trying to speak to her most of the time. My Granda is still going at 96 and is still the same as he’s always been mentally.
Forgot to mention, another film with a nice Einaudi soundtrack.
Flicked my way through Run, Hide, Fight. The Yank gun lobby must be creaming themselves over this film. The premise being a student fights back against marauding shooters at a school, with guns. Utter drivel and the five stars no doubt came from a Yank audience.
