Yeah. Tom Arnold’s cameo is hilarious.

Tenet. Again.

Nolan’s films are way too long, and he basically makes the same movie again and again, but damn if they’re not beautiful. This one has definitely hit the spot.

Disclaimer: I like Interstellar too. That might well be tomorrow.

Finishing up the second season tonight - worth every second just for ‘Big Mick’

That “Russian” accent…

Watching Halt and Catch Fire again. It’s been some years since i last watched it, am still loving it. The 80s sound track is an added bonus. It deserves an the plaudits that were thrown at it.

I haven’t seen it, but the name must derive from an old Usenet meme of a made up assembler (“HCF”).

Obviously people have run with the joke and references that you can find now are less pithy.

I particularly liked “EDM3” or something similar, for “Eject Disc Mach 3”, having seen a tape robot stab a tape clean through a machine.

Yea, its a run through the wild west of the early days of PC development and software, along with the internet, search engines, gaming, anti virus etc etc.

My first job I realised that I’d just written 1000 lines of assembler that compiled (assembled) and worked first time, and, yeah, time to move on.

Had a similar experience with 4,500 lines of Cobol* - a complex BACS run handler and my first big program for an accounting system in the NHS (there’s your first red flag) - so yeah, compiled fine, ran fine with the data model I had…

Over to the actual mirror system: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop:

The spec I’d been given by the VERY much better paid consultants from Arthur Andersen’s was wrong. And not slightly.

So, yeah, also time to move on…

*(I know, baby’s first language)

Lincoln Lawyer - tv show not the film - pretty cheesy. I was quite disappointed as I’d heard it was good.
Kleo - absolutely awful - turned off after one episode which I hardly ever do. Billed as a cross between Killing Eve and Money Heist - it was like a shit c-movie remix of both.
Also the latest season of Black Mirror - also quite disappointed, but maybe expectations were raised from all the hype. The episodes were ok but nothing special. I’d put them all in the ‘middling’ range of BM episodes.

Need to see something decent now - trying The Gallows Pole.

Still working through S1 of succession. Just watched the episode where they meet up in the desert for the fake therapy session (Ep7). Outstanding.

Siobhan is hot af.

Meh. It was ok, quite amusing in places and I quite liked the mix of historical theme with modern music and speech, but could have told a lot more of the history it was based on - as it was there wasn’t much plot.

Now on to Rillington Place - somehow missed this at the time.

Today I watched,

the mother, meh it was ok, j lo is ok, Fiennes the lesser is ok. A bit try hard and no atomic blonde but it wasted an hour and a half of a random day off.

3000 years of longing. Tulsa Swindon and Irradiated Elbow. I rather liked it. It’s not my usual shit go boom fare but it was very enjoyable and as ever Ms Swinton is fantastic. Elba was on top of his game too.

Hypnotic, Ben afflek and sone vaguely familiar people in a Robert Rodriguez channelling Christopher Nolan film. An action / thriller that bumbles along with a vaguely interesting twist that elevates slightly above the norm.

Saw the flash movie on Monday. 20 mins of batflek which just made me want to see a good movie with him in. 1 hour of boring shite and then another hour of decent shit go boom. A solid 6.5

Hahaha, I actually have one of these

A Carr’s silver salver, wedding gift from my mother, the least effort and thought humanly possible. Quite a distinctive three - legged design.

God only knows where it is, but I assume it’s still in the house somewhere.

I had high hopes for this and there’s a great movie in there somewhere, but just found it a bit disappointing.
