What I'm watching (Series 2)

Spin off of Undercover which is superb - Eurotrash meets narcos.

Five years after the event (I really don’t watch much telly…) I’ve just got to the end of Season 1 of ā€œAltered Carbonā€. Nothing’s flawless, but this was fucking excellent nonetheless. Imaginative, brutal, twisted, occasionally funny, somewhat convoluted, and not afraid to dodge happy endings… So, not very Yank friendly, then - which fact is reflected in its lowish review aggregate and cancellation after a shortened Season 2.

Damn shame, but clearly not dumb enough for the genre’s usual audiences…

I took my wife to see this when it very first came out.

Me ā€œTwo for drive pleaseā€
Lovely ticket booth girl ā€œAre you sure?ā€
ā€œUhhh yes?ā€
ā€œPeople have been walking outā€
ā€œTheir lossā€
ā€œIt’s not really an action movie and it’s very violentā€
ā€œSold!ā€

Love the soundtrack too

Oldies night . . .

Richard Attenborough and John Hurt are outstanding.

Now for the LOLs . . .

Factoid; Mr T was in large part picked because he’s also a short arse and it made it easier to shoot him with Stallone.

One of Attenboroughs’ best performances I think - a very mundane psychopath.

That’s just it, an unremarkable man you wouldn’t remember five minutes after meeting. But we as the audience know of his crimes and can pick up on the extreme psychopathy

It’s an amazing film - I love the washed out use of colour in the film it gives it a very eerie feeling.

Tradecraft isn’t bad.
Soundtrack was bestest.

Just watched Terminator: Dark Fate Not the worst in the series but nowhere near the best. More clichƩs than MOTD but still watchable. 5.5/10.

Manflu is visiting at the moment. Sat and watched The Killer last night followed by The Gray Man. I guess it passed the time, is the best I can say about either film.

No matter how many times I’m always staggered by the sheer visionary imagination of Metropolis
