I wish he got quite a lot more airtime - especially if he had the opportunity to properly interview MPs. Alas I think most of them would absolutely chicken out because they know they’d get eviscerated.

New series of Gladiators.
Not absolutely sure why,… but I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually? :muscle: :women_wrestling: :bikini:

I’m with a certain pair of R6 presenters on this. Give it a twist with unexpected Gladiatotors, Pam Ayers, Alan Bennet etc…

Cheesy, overacted and hammy but 70’s horror films are just great

Series 27 of ‘Silent Witness’ has recently started, so Sam and I watched the first two episodes last night. For better or for worse I’ve seen every season since the beginning. For the last few years I have really wondered why…? Season 24 was annoying and disappointing, 25 was braindamaged-absurd, 26 was merely stupid and fucking dire…

So somewhat to my surprise, the first story was actually pretty decent. It’s been quite a while since this series has been well-researched and well-portrayed, but at least this story wasn’t 100% ludicrous. I’ll say no more lest any spoilers creep in, though I’m guessing I’m the only one on here still watching it?

Ali watches it. The bits I’ve seen were way too hammy.

Can’t disagree. Emilia Fox has always been a weak lead, perhaps weighed-down by being related to Laurence, plus she’s just not all that bright IRL. Naturally, then, she’s stuck to the series like shit to a blanket, even as the quality of writing has steadily declined…

The worst of recent seasons - 25 especially - were starting to become bad parodies by writers who evidently would have felt more at home serialising minor superheroes into storylines interlarded with cringeworthy soap-opera subplots…

TBH, it was probably never that good, it’s mainly nostalgia that’s kept me at it in recent years :+1:

Don’t care Emilia Fox Is hot

Foe,

Brilliantly acted but that fucking script! Could have been a cult classic. Still worth a watch, some parts are glorious.

Tried it on Saturday night, gave up after half an hour

First eposode of the latest True Detective with Jodie Foster.

The Beekeeper

The Staith is a retired member of some or other top secret unit who’s karma is disturbed by an evil thieving corporation. He then proceeds to blow lots of stuff up & kill all the baddies. Good amusing hokum

If only Alan Bates had taken the same approach, the whole Post Office/Fujitsu thing might have been avoided.
