The French Dispatch. I’m never sure about Wes Anderson. He’s an artful film maker with a keen eye for what made the better European arthouse films charming but doesn’t quite seem to be able to recreate their warmth & soul. But it’s a good watch and I’ll try it again to see if I missed something.
What a fight!!!
Chisora has a chin made of granite.
Down twice and back fighting.
(Edit. Make that three times!)
Finally got round to watching the BBC drama about the Russian chemical weapons attack on the UK. Centred on Salisbury, it tells the story of Putin’s attempt to murder two Russian defectors, using the nerve agent Novichek and the resultant death of a UK citizen, as well as the long term health affects on others.
The local public health director turned out to be rather good at her job, as were the local police and army units, supported by those at Porton Down.
Putin really is a grade one cunt.
As Ukraine is about to find out, I fear.
Ordinarily you’d expect our politicians to be somewhat shamed by the amount of influence Russian money has here. Currently however, such trivia is ignored and we grant peerages instead.
Yep, the number of politicians that take Russian money is scandalous.
Landscapers. Two episodes in. Very amusing & dark piece directed by Will Sharpe who’s fast becoming a reliable ‘go-to’ for quirky drama. He did Flowers, and was also involved in Defending the Guilty (BBC) a very funny comedy about trainee barristers.
There’s a number of Russian dissidents or people that have been “suicided” by them that haven’t had press attention as the Police have, in many cases, very quickly marked them as simple suicides.
Think a journalist compiled a load of evidence pointing to Russian state involvement but no idea if it was ever followed up by the police though.
I suspect they are filed in the same drawer as man in suitcase.
This lot are utterly shameless.
Also known as the ‘party’ drawer
Anyone looking for a last minute present?
I have actually just bought that (for personal reasons, I was an extra in it), though this one of the same title might be more fun

It was really good wasn’t it.
And yes , he’s a proper cunt.
I see the new series of start Trek is no longer on Netflix, it’s on a service called Pluto. I have a Now TV set to box, any one know if I can get Pluto on this? If not, will just have to use the Pluto app on my lappy and cast it to the TV.
Unlikely on a now box. If you get the plain Roku version that does almost everything
How to watch Pluto TV in the UK
Pluto TV is available to watch on NOW and Roku devices in the UK.
The service is also available on, Amazon Fire Stick, Android, Apple TV Plus, Chromecast, iPhone, LG, PlayStation, Roku and Samsung TV Plus.
The app is free to download from on Apple App Store, Amazon Appstore, and Google Play.
It also requires no subscription or sign-ups.
But not on a Now box it would appear. Time to download to lap top.
New Star Trek worth it anyone?
Is the firmware/software, up to date?
The info above was from the Radio Times on the 24th of Nov 2021, and it says it is available on Now devices??
Thanks for the heads up. I think Will is a serious talent. I was only thinking (again) the other day about the sad ending to Flowers S2.
