Two things.
Forgot to mention we watched Sirat last weekend. Spanish made film about a bunch of ravers doing their thing in the Morroccan desert. Lots of gratuitous horny sound system footage.
Local military move them out and some break off heading for another rave with a father & son in tow looking for a missing daughter/sister. I had high hopes for this and it looks and sounds great but the story lets it down.
Maybe the trailer shows enough.
But also we’ve been enjoying (on more4) Carpe Diem which is a French crime comedy about a lawyer who’s out of jail after 17 years wrongfully banged up for murdering his wife and now taking all manner of strange defence cases while he tries also to work out what actually happened to her. Very entertaining. Amusing characters & plenty of tooling about in a nice old 911.

Yep, agree. It’s keeping me watching (up to ep7 so far) but I doubt I’ll be raving about it to anyone else. It’s good, but could be better. But also, if it gets beyond Season 1, it may improve as well. It’s a compelling atmosphere.

Its a long way back from Sydney, so binged all of S1 and half of S2, really rather good and worth the 7 day free trial of Paramount+ to binge the rest now we are back home

The Stath plays a grizzled ex special forces guy (and ex cop) who’s ended up as the bodyguard for a Thai shipping magnate who promptly gets bumped off. The Stath tracks the killers onto a container ship where all of the film’s action takes place. I actually enjoyed the no frills plot, fairly basic dialogue & gratuitous violence. He’s got this kind of minimalism down to a fine art nowadays,

Reacher, once again it disappoints.
Bad enough that the last series was just an annoying stream of “you don’t mess with the special investigators” every 30secs.
Now they have taken one of the better books/stories and ruined it by changing the storyline and making it incredibly cryptic and confusing by not being able to get the little facts and twists across.
Gave up after the 2nd episode
