We watched Coda last night. Quite sweet if utterly predictable. But Best Picture? Not in a million years. Hollywood just ticking its inclusivity boxes. Nothing wrong with films about all kinds of conditions & disabilities but the merits of those causes are not the same thing as the artistic, technical or aesthetic merits of a film and films should be judged on how good they are as films.
Someone at work recommended the book to me as he said it was very much in the style of Le Carre. Only just started reading and itās very good but now find it has been made into a tv show.
Will watch once Iāve finished the book but going by what Iāve read so far this show has the potential to be very good
Disgusted with myself for binging this Suicide Squad spin off during Covid. It was however sufficiently vapid to effectively retard reality.
Synopsis: Peacemaker is a randy inappropriate, immature imbecile with a pet eagle. He listens to hair metal, his sidekick is a dork and deeply psychotic . One of peacemakers nemesis is a crisp eating midget, his father is a sadistic white supremacist. Quite amazed I can remember any of the above as this show is a fine example of visual Mogadon.
Documentary, Chernobyl, New Evidence. First time Iāve seen one of the guys who went under the reactor to open the drain valves being interviewed. He lived, the plans the Soviet Union put in place ensured thousands of others didnāt. Not surprising that this event was one of the precursors to the end of the Soviet Union
