A treat after a hard few days in work Rob but thankfully I can have a lie in. The Woodford Reserve and Old Peculier (bottles) is a dynamite combo.
How are you feeling yourself ?

Same as I have been for the last couple of months, don’t feel ill, just get tired really easily and occasionally I have a day of just crushing fatigue, I’ve really hit a plateau. Mostly I’m just bored fucking stupid though.
Fuck what a nightmare Rob and here’s me moaning about work
Don’t worry about it Al, you’ve earned it mate.
Just bought a couple of these. Reduced.
Fuck, just seen an email about the delivery…from Hermes!
round here Hermes and DPD most reliable. RM worst
Nice.
I think we’re quite lucky here all our couriers and posties are excellent.
Our Hermes driver is a young man called Chris. He was born in town and we all have his mobile number. We get great service off him.
Our posties are excellent too.
Parcelforce consistently deliver my parcels to the same wrong address, regardless of the sender. Checked each time and the sender have the correct address. Parcelforce customer service absolutely fucking useless and dismissive.
Hermes tend to leave stuff in the bin and I can’t stand that.
They are all people using their own cars and they don’t want to come back.
RM are great and if not delivered I pick up from the depot.
DPD amazing as you can track it in real time.
Anyway, I’m working from home so I’m sure it’ll be fine.
First dram of this tonight. It’s lovely. Bit of smoke, and they weren’t joking on the tasting notes when they mention nuts. Salted peanuts, vanilla & faint smoke. 35 quid at Amazon atm, apparently it is up to 50 quid elsewhere. Even at 50, it’s worth it, and I will be buying at least one more…
Just received The 2019 release of Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition… distilled in 2004 and matured in oloroso sherry casks, before being bottled in 2019.
All my very recent purchases have been the superb 2000 distillation and am looking forward to the new kid on the block…
I have slight reservations as one of my Fav go to sippers Glengoyne Legacy 1 is now out of stock and I had to go with the new distillation Legacy 2…a very nice dram indeed however for my palate I preferred the 1…
So Hermes left it on the step for me to pick up. The box was squashed and I could hear rattling glass. Thankfully it was the tin lid they’d squashed off the tub it comes in and the glass was still in one piece but bouncing around against the lid. Lucky.
Hmmmmm…unsure about this one I was not expecting such a hit of charred cask which for my palate masked much of the complexity that was shoved into the background…have left it open and shall go again tonight but on first tasting not a patch on the two previous distillations
Interesting Sweden and juniper aren’t the first things that come to mind when I think of single malt.
