World War 3

There you go - it wouldn’t have helped.

Maksym Kozytskyi is the governor for the Lviv region of Ukraine. He initially described the missile strike via Максим Козицький/Львівська ОВА (ОДА).

I suppose i could have added that.

I’m with @pmac on this.

Without substantiated resources, what you post is just opinion. Too much has been posted without evidence, or notable resources. Reposting one opinion isn’t evidence. It’s just that, and opinion

This may be Social Media, albeit an ugly, dodgy, sweaty uncle of the mainstream, but bullshit is not acceptable.

If you want your posts to be taken seriously, then offer some qualification.

The alternative probably isn’t what you want.

Fair enough.

Hopefully my clarification has appeased any concerns that it was in any way an untoward, invented or opinion post.

No, but with that second line it absolutely would have.

I can’t speak for anyone else but personally I don’t know the names of the governors of the different oblasts of Ukraine, nor what they have reported. And you know that I don’t know any of this stuff, because if I did know what they were saying then you wouldn’t have needed to have told me.

Just a source. That’s all we’re asking.

Now Trump has said he’s going to bomb Mexico - the year has only just begun…

So China will attack Taiwan in 2026?
Is Taiwan part of China? They’re quite close to each other.
But
TSMC is located in Taiwan, which the US will protect because it has invested in it and is a fairly valuable resource.

Taiwan has never been a part of PRC & doesn’t see why it should have to become a part of it now.

but it seems to me that China wants to seize this territory for many reasons.

Trump says that - They will defend Taiwan with their nuclear weapons if necessary.
but he says a many other things..

PRC has only existed since 1949 when the CCP won the civil war and the Republic of China retreated onto Taiwan

Taiwan is a HUGE thorn in the side of PRC and the communist party because - in theory - it’s the last remnant of the old, pre-communist China. In reality, the modern day PRC dictatorship only cares about seizing the specialist silicon chip manufacturers there; the island is of little value otherwise. Hong Kong was the same in that much was made of its colonial history, but all PRC really cared about was the banking infrastructure.

It’ll take PRC a few weeks to roll-over Taiwan - Trump is full of shit and will do nothing, the West will do nothing, and while Taiwan will fight valiantly, it’s no UA. Plus, PRC is militarily MUCH better equipped, prepared, and organised than Russia, and won’t hold-back on using WMDs (tho’ likely not nukes - wrong kind of collateral damage…).

It’s not a matter of “if”, only “when” :frowning: {/opinion}

Tomorrow peace will come.

So Trump said there would be peace, but there still isn’t any. Can we continue to believe everything Trump says?

Would you even start to believe anything he says?

He exists in a strange fantasy world, isolated entirely from reality.

Surely we never did. The man is utterly delusional, on a good day.

And now - Cuba. Sanctions. “National Emergency.” Tariffs on anyone who sells oil to Cuba, which is probably a direct attack on Mexico as much as anyone else.

Apparently (according to Trump) the “policies, practices, and actions of the Government of Cuba constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat.” That’s big. (Or bigly…)

Cuba is a Socialist country and one of the poorest in the world, suffering under a 60+ year economic blockade by one of the richest countrys in the world.
Guess which one has better healthcare, life expectancy, literacy, lower infant mortality and every type of crime.

It’s not the USA.

I’m confused here.

Trump seems to think that lots of the things he doesn’t like can be dealt with using ‘Emergency’ powers. But AFAIK dictionary definitions of the word require that an emergency situation, whatever it is, has arisen suddenly and often unexpectedly. The USA has had a problem with Cuba since I was an infant. Even a schoolchild must understand that it simply can’t be an emergency.

How come no grown-up has used the US legal system to stop Trump using emergency powers on things which aren’t emergencies ?

Or have I missed something ?
