Preferably unused but will consider used too.

And so it begins…

I’ll have a dig through my stash, I might have some nice That’s metals that I’ll probably never get round to using.

Don’t discount nice Type 2s though, they can sound pretty good when well recorded.

This would help with that :smiling_face_with_horns:

Good lord no.

Haha, I’m a dickhead, I’m on my break, looking at my phone and I’ve forgot my glasses…

Mistook it for a tape deck. Idiot.

If you see any cheap 3 head Nakamichi decks going…

There was a CR7E recently for £2300…

That falls outside of my definition of cheap

Which means that this at the Emporium would qualify on that basis?

There is also this which fit with the aesthetics of other bits of your system.

I think @AudioAl has a Dragon he might sell. £3k aiui.

That would be nice. Very fucking nice.

Ok, I’ve had a dig.

I have 2 sealed That’s CD/IVF 60s, and a sealed Sony Metal XR 60.

I dunno, all 3 £70 posted?

I also have some of what looks like C90, unsealed but unused, type IV unbranded Maxell (they’re definitely Maxell shells, but totally unmarked). I have no idea what the exact tape stock is (will definitely be type IV), but they came with a big lot of BASF chromes (also unsealed but unused) that I bought from a studio clearance.

If you want, I’ll send you one to try out?

I have lots of chrome tapes that are less painful on the wallet…

Thanks for having a look, sorted now. Might come back for these once I’ve had a play with mine (and got a cheap Nak from somewhere).

Reminds me I have a broken CR 1E in the cupboard.

I had a new nak 125 in the early 80s that was very good.
Not heard a top quality cassette deck for years

This. I found metals too hot actually

No worries, they’re going nowhere.

If you want to have a play with the Maxell(?) I’ll send you one FOC. If you want them after that, I guess a fiver each, and I’ve got 5 in total.
