Fancy trying the vfet thing in my system (whilst the monos are being repaired) anyone got a sorted and very clean Sony 5550 I could buy or borrow?

Good luck finding one, have you thought about buying TA-5650 and removing the preamp links to use it as a poweramp?

There’s a chap on pfm selling a Yamaha B-2 which is a vfet amp. He also has the C2 preamp and everything else to go with it. Lovely setup.

I have one. The suicide diodes were sorted by Pete (@coco) a long time ago and I used it for a couple of years after that with no issues.
Only problem is that it hasn’t been switched on for maybe 8 yrs. I would need to try it first to see if everything is ok but I’m off island tomorrow and got something else on Tuesday so it would be a few days before I could get back to you.

I like the look of the b2 but don’t need the speakers and pre so no good as selling as one
