Just got back from the Lakes. Weather pretty crap but a couple of good days so we got some walks in.
Worse was Tuesday night when it tipped it down.
I had arranged to meet an old army mate in Penrith. We hadn’t met face to face for 40 years so missing it wasn’t an option. The road from Ambleside to Hawkshead was flooded at Clappersgate and we only just got through, water over sills.
Worse on the way back so needed a detour. So a bit of drizzle didn’t spoil the day.
The wind should be 50 by now, I don’t reckon it’s 20 out there yet. Grateful for small mercies, looks like it is skirting further North of us than predicted. Even Shap weather station is only predicting 26, I think the BBC forecasts are just the occasional gusts.
It was a warning of yellow snow, or a yellow snow warning or whatever earlier today. Don’t eat the yellow snow folks, @bmtell’s cat has been there before you.
