Antigua’s nice

Just met two locals who looked suspiciously like they had walked, waded across…they say it is possible but tricky and the depth is unpredictable and the tide isn’t as low as predicted.

Louise is saying “no, no, no and muttering stuff about lunatics”

Lol.

Go for it tomorrow!

Actually, if you are going to Tresco (not my favourite of the Islands as it always seems a bit too commercialised for my tastes) The Abbey Gardens are a treat and the small museum there, with all of the old figureheads on show, is worth a look. Their cafe is ok.

The New Inn used to be very good for a lunchtime session, then I think it closed to non-residents, but I believe it has since reopened to the general public. It’s a while since I’ve eaten there, but it was very nice back then, if a little spendy.

Ruin Beach Cafe has a wood pizza oven and is supposed to be nice, although it’s a bit of a trek to get there.

No plan to go anywhere apart from walking on Bryher. The other few weeks of our hols have been pretty busy, the plan here is to chill out.

Sun came out

This photo was taken just before I convened with nature and upset Louise by taking all my clothes off on the cliff top

We are surrounded - two tables of bellowing, jolly fucking hockey sticks tossers, one lot talking about their monogrammed underpants…they gave me daggers for wearing shorts and a Prodigy T shirt to dinner.

Louise is suggesting I stay calm and drink more alcohol…

Personally I’d like to release Stronzetto into this room.

Well, you will go to these Fancy-Dan places. You wouldn’t have got that at Veronica Farm

I know but the food is damned good.

True to form Louise is doing her best, and created a small stir by slurping the remaining mushroom sauce from her dinner bowl because they (a) served her fish supper in an inappropriate container, and (b) they didn’t supply a spoon

One day closer to mine, since yesterday.

Bognor?

Fuck, have woken up with man flu, and I’ve tweaked a calf muscle…

 you have my sympathies. Sadly there is no cure for man flu - it just gets better in due course on its own. Alcohol can numb the pain pretty well. I don’t know if it would also help with the calf tweak. Gotta be worth a try though.

Lunch at Fraggle Rock Cafe and Bar - salt and pepper squid, raw mackerel salad, and a jar of prawns.

Beach combing near Fraggle Rock

Managed to walk off most of my calf tweak, although it is still sore. I am working up a sweat to get rid of the cold…with a few beers here and there

I have to be in a fishy mood for seafood, but could easily take that right now.

Sideways rain here spent the morning with his/hers massage, then steam room, caldron of a jacouzi and icey cold showers…now everything is accordingly shriveled we are enjoying a very cold pint.

Walked two hours to Rushey Bay via Stony Par

(Storey Par)

Rushey Bay is stunning and remote enough for us to convene with nature until the heavens opened…

Are those stones randomly laying around or has someone been attempting Inuksuks?

Do you mean inukshuk? Also known as Cairns here, then no, there are plenty on other beaches around here though

Whatever you call them, the stone piles are man made.

Very common on all of the Isles of Scilly
