Yes, it’d be interesting to compare the tackiness quotient of both.
I realise it’s not a new idea, I had something similar maybe 15 years ago or more but I don’t recall it being this good.
Just fitted a secondhand VMS30Eii cartridge in the Aiwa AP2600 (no fancy decks here…). Sounds decent.

Karan KA L Reference 2 box pre/power supply. Comes with the optional phono-stage option too. Sounds quite sublime for a SS pre.

Well I did say I had my eye on it to you 
It’s a totally relaxing listen, very smooth and dynamic. Just lacks the air of a valve pre but it sounds ultra controlled especially with the lower frequencies and the phonostage really makes it a great package. Would be interesting to hear it with your Vitus doing the power amp duties.

Yes, it’ll be interesting to see how long it lasts. He did say that to me as well. But it’s certainly impressive at the moment.
