2021 Formula One - The Bollox Continues

I hope Lewis doesn’t retire and has another go next year.

Bit like the 0-5 Liverpool utd match, then the ref saying at 90mins,lets call it 5-5 and next goal wins.

Utterly ludicrous

Retirement now?

Nice sportsmanship from Hamilton

Lewis did the business on the track from the begining, but was fucked by his team’s strategic decisions. I feel sorry for him but happy for Max.

New regs next year, it wouldn’t surprise me if Merc are ahead of the game with the new car.
RB are developing their own engine, although with collaboraion with Honda for next year.

Merc apparantly didn’t do much development on their car this year as they put resources into the 2022 car.

Was there anything stopping Lewis coming in for new tyres? Nup. Am glad it ended with actuall racing.

Hamilton was robbed.

Not sure what else Merc could’ve done with regard to tyres. The main controversy is not allowing all the lapped cars to unlap themselves, which might have meant the race finishing under the safety car. Felt a bit contrived. Congrats to RB and Max, I’ve hated some of his driving this year but no denying he’s blisteringly quick. Can’t wait to see what next years cars are like now.

Verstappen Fans: The rules have been applied as per the Procedures.
Hamilton Fanbois: It’s a fix. We wuz robbed.

Hmmm let’s ignore how the rule was applied then, why did they only let the lapped cars between Lewis and Max through and not all of them (as per the rules)?

For the record, I don’t give two fucks who wins. I have no Nationalistic investment.
Red Bull rolled the dice when all seemed lost. The dice came up 7s.
Mercedes lost the race by being conservative.
Lewis and Max drove epically all season. Neither is innocent. Neither has the moral high ground.
RB played the team game brilliantly and well. Mercedes, when doing the same have been clumsy.
Likewise with strategy.

I am already looking forward to Hamilton gaining his 8th WDC next year.

So without the crash Hamilton would have won easily?
So the crash gave an advantage to Max. That’s what makes World Champions in todays Formula 1. Jesus. Sack that idiot(s) who allowed it.

It’s a fair question, to which the answer is its the only solution to their initial mistake?

All cars - and not just those between Lewis and Max - should have been allowed through earlier, but it didn’t make any difference to the outcome, surely?

I’m independent in this one too.

Mercedes did nothing wrong. They just got fisted by Lady Luck

The rules were introduced to prevent lapped cars interfering with the race results. I’m assuming this was applied in the spirit of the rules.

What the fuck are you on about Dave ?

Letting all the lapped cars through would likely have resulted in the race finishing under the safety car.

But the rule is very clear and doesn’t have a little note that says it’s ok to also apply partially “in the spirit of the rule”

Brit doesn’t agree with something which means a Brit loses out shocker.

If he’d released the cars when he should have done, they’d all have got round no problem
