It’s not just one race Dave. There were 22 of them. Max had one more races over the season than Lewis. How does that work then ?

If the Race Directors’ word is final (in my view it should be) then the win is entirely fair for Max.
Fwiw, my take is a pragmatic solution was found to a difficult situation. Toto himself asked that the race not be finished under a yellow. Horner asked the same.
The race director decided that by moving out the lapped cars that were “in play”, we could finish with a race, as requested by both team principals and to the benefit of the sport and the fans.

Perhaps you could read other peoples posts in the same way you expect others to read yours then, I’ve never said I’m a fan of Lewis but that doesn’t seem to stop you throwing bullshit comments about.
Maybe at least make it a level playing field if you are going to take an 11 sec lead off the leader, and say he can change his tyres before you have a 1 lap race.
Can’t see any casual sport punters signing up to sky f1 on the strength of that.

There’s nothing stopping him from doing so: he can just ask that they do so between turn A and B and chill between X and Y
The mistake was the initial decision not to allow them to crack on past through S1&2, bur this mistake was rectified and didn’t ultimately affect the outcome.
Tinteweb’s awash with “Merc strategy blew it” but I’m totally lost on what they should have done differently - all options involved losing track position to Max.
The big difference here is the football fans will expect the referee’s decision to be overruled in their favour. Then throw things around when it doesn’t go their way.
The rugby fans will say “oh well that was fun, well done to the winner”. Then go have a beer and chill the fuck out.
