I’m enjoying my beer.
Unless their Welsh.
Is it good racing if it was completely contrived by the race director freestyling it? It’s a rhetorical question. Don’t answer.
Can someone just explain to me how max was 11 seconds back, pitted, and was then next to Lewis?
The rest I get.
You certainly are.
It would take too long. And you probably wouldn’t understand anyway. F1 isn’t for you.
I’m actually enjoying a fucking lemsip but that’s another story.

Not quite the same, rugby and wendyball can be stopped whilst they consult the television official or VAR, not so easy in F1.
The result should stand but it was a completely bullshit decision by Masi.
Is it just he can drive faster in the pit so effectively caught up? (Faster than the track limited cars).
If not, it’s not making sense as he should just exit the pit lane 11 seconds back plus the pit time.
I haven’t watched a F1 race in ten years. I am not a Lewis Hamilton fan. That race was a fucking farce. I will not watch another.
Thank you for your valuable input.

Under the safety car, cars on track drive slowly. The car in the pits gets to take up his usual position because overtaking isn’t allowed…
Ooooh, I can’t be bothered.
That comment aged well ![]()
How did he make up the 11 seconds so quickly?
Because the 11 seconds was at race pace. Under the safety car…

So under the safety car you can just close up and effectively remove any time gaps other than race position?
So the race is not just neutralised it gets rid of time advantage between places?
Why can’t you overtake a lapped car under a safety?
For safety reasons. Passing others compromises safety when marshalls are on the track. Once the marshalls are off (and safe) then all the swapping of places can take place.
When the Safety Car is deployed, all cars queue up behind it. That negates any advantage. It applies up and down the grid, and is part of team strategy.
Under a Virtual Safety Car (as was deployed earlier in the race after Kimi crashed), ALL cars reduce their speed to 40%. This maintains gaps and time advantages. But if Marshalls are on the track in dangerous position, a FULL Safety Car must be deployed.
Have they discussed on UK TV why Masi didn’t red flag it as in Baku this year?
Got you. So max knew if he pitted he’d pop out in the same virtual position, a little extra than 11 back, but could just close any gap back to the car in front.
So the pit was free and he was always going to be right up behind the last lapped car.
Yes.
