Looking at it, it’s blacker than some other things I have around that are also black. I would say it’s definitely black rather than any kind of grey.
You could paint them with vanta black.
Or just get them in white, which looks much better.
I think vanta black would be fun.
Black’s good. Is it shiny or matt?
Wait, what? There’s white?
There’s about 20 colours.
You do know how to select the options on the Amazon link Adam posted?
Sorry, have been in the pub the entire time and not really concentrating!
Minge pink
I quite fancy the luscious lipstick red colour. But it would look odd as just a single coloured thing in the system
Just don’t call them a Work of Art.
As it’s Adam, a ‘work of ass’ is probably more aesthetically accurate.
Very impressive Adam.
Can you do, er, normal round JMLC 550Hz for S2, 1.5" throat?
Would be fun to test listen to them against wood, and then, if… put the wooden ones on the firepit🙂
So the S2 thread is: “Vitavox “S” Type: 2.62” x 16 t.p.i.”, which isn’t terribly helpful. If only I had someone nearby who had a pair of S2s, knew about modelling and had a 3d printer to do a few trials to get the right parameters…
The fundamental issue here though is the size of a 550 round. It would probably take 4 pieces to print at least, maybe 5 to keep the throat even. I really should look at making the 3d printer bigger…
Well, Ritchie already has adapter rings which can be attached to the back of a horn, so you don’t need to print that bit. Just a flat back at least 110mm in diameter and thick enough to allow self tappers to bite into.
Oh ok that’s easy. What do you think, 5mm for the self tappers? I’ve never really used them. Do any slicers allow you to specify different infill parameters for certain sections?
I’d make it a bit thicker. You could add internal “pillars” of solid material 10mm diameter say 20mm long on an 90mm PCD (6 screws @ 60 degree intervals) to ensure you’re not screwing into infill. Not sure if the slicer will respect that, though.
Failing that, I’d probably just make the base layer 10mm thick (50 layer bottom shell).
