Matsamarrer with F1 then??
did you say summat?
Meh!
Exactly
Getting in to the planning stages now: anyone wall-mount theirs? Most photos I see on here have theirs on a table / unit
( Will be hanging my.sonos beam beneath the panel too - any top tips on tbat front?)
Ours is wall mounted. I bought one of these -
Excellent design. 3 screws to fit and that’s it. Built in spirit level. It was up in a jiffy.
I have 3 wall mounted things, 2 TVs and a computer. They’re all on extensible brackets, as they’re not in the centre of a wall. I think it’s a much better solution than plonking them onto tables.
most wall mounts I’ve seen, has resulted in a TV being mounted too high for the furniture in the vicinity. We have a great ceiling mount for the bedroom TV, perfect for viewing whilst supine.
Our kitchen tv is wall mounted which we found good for viewing whilst stood up cooking.
In our main room, we had the TV on the chimney breast but it was always too high for comfortable viewing without nect ache. When the chimney breast was removed we went to a TV stand to mount lower.
Hopefully going to pull the trigger on a Philips 65 oled this weekend. Currys have in stock for a look-see then ordering from Richer Sounds - who don’t have it in store
Not really bothered about apps etc as I use a Roku box, and my main stereo (tannoy Cheviots) is connected for sound duties are taken care of. Existing bracket is good for it, just need to get to it to hang it and connect everything
That’s a 49” tv now … the 65 has about 1cm each side on the speaker front edges, so ok where it sits nearer the wall, but it’s gonna be tight to the amp top, and I think the hefalumps may get moved…
At least if you have to move the bracket up a bit the big screen will hide the old holes.
It’ll hide most of the wall
I’d rather rejig the rack to be honest. I have an old hifi rack I could put to one side of the speaker instead. The problem with the rack that’s there is only the top shelf is thick glass. And I don’t think I can move the shelves around… but if I could do that I could get the amp at the bottom, put the tt and phono at the top or even the DVD player … I’ll see how it goes
Beware of mounting the tv too high Paul, I had to because I wasn’t allowed to remove the mantlepiece, and it forces me to slouch down to get a good viewing angle, which screws my back after a bit.
Iirc your telly is about the right height now, so I would keep the bottom edge where it is now.
Then surely the top edge should be where the existing one is.
No, it works from the bottom edge, for some reason.
I tried messing about with the height of mine before I was overruled.
The middle of the tv should end up in about the same place, VESA holes depending … I have a bit of adjustment on the bracket I think, it has vertical arms for the VESA mounts and they can hang on the main bracket at an angle and can be moved up and down a bit I think
The bottom will be about 3 inches lower I reckon
We all know that 3" makes a huge difference
It depends on what you start with
If you use the lower edge as the meter, then the screen appears too high. Just my experience.
Maybe, I suppose it’s subjective.
I felt my 55” worked best at the same height as the rack that my 42” was on, so the bottom edge would have been around the same level, or maybe an inch or so lower because of the thinner bezel.
