Our telly looks a bit small now. Gonna have to get a bigger one. How big are those 55 inch tellies?

Wifey has been chatting to her dad who told her the Which recommended one is an£400 LG. Think my finger will have to slip when ordering.

Erm…

Get 65" or buy a bigger place.

After a week or so they’re the same size as a 40”. Get the biggest you can afford/fit in the house.

Quite like the idea of 48 tbh, but they seem to be more expensive than 55 oled.

LG 55cx may be the sort of thing. Fancied a Philips but wanted to buy from Richer or JL for the warranty and they didn’t seem to have them.

Unless you want 65" the CX may be overkill but at 55" the BX will be fine.

I got the bottom of the range OLED55B8SLC for £1000 from John Lewis last year and it does everything I need for UHD etc and is similar spec to the 55BX.

Did you go ahead and acquire the TX55Hz2000 Dave…

Not yet. Waiting for the new year now, sales etc.

I had a brief look around this morning and UK stock appears to be pretty low…I would be very surprised to see that model offered for less than It is at present…

LG CX 55 in situ

Picture absolutely fantastic, and that’s before I’ve been over to AVForums to read their 76 page long setup guide. ( I’m probably banned now for even saying that.)

However, any other LG owners who only use apps who are getting the NOT PROGRAMMED message(due to their being no TV stations at all?)

I’ve only had it setup for 24 hours and it is pissing me off IN THE EXTREME

I’ve got a SkyQ connected and when it’s switched off I get an annoying “no input” message instead.

Choose your poison as I don’t think you can turn either message off.

Thanks for the heads up.

Where are you looking to site it ? Obviously better flat on a wall but we had to place ours in the corner of the room which I think limits the size.

I can recommend Blasons in Northampton, they sell mainly Sony and Panasonic.

I have stumbled across this tv at £899 (£700 off)
Samsung QE55Q80T. Any thoughts?

Not sure if this is relevant but we’ve had a Q55Q80R for a year or so (no idea what difference the letters make :man_shrugging:)
The picture’s good and it’s easy to use.
For someone whose last tv was a Brionvega B&W portable this new one’s bloomin’ massive though…

Ours 55 samsung qled is nearly 3 yrs old now , yep no probs , large enough for our large lounge, great picture and smart features. good saving is that dave .

My budget Samsung LED has partly broken after just over two years. Samsung told me to fuck off when I enquired about getting it fixed under the EU expected lifetime warranty. So if you’re buying, make sure you buy from somewhere that offers a decent warranty.

Yes, our cheap 50"looks small
