The all time winner is of course the Fell diesel.
I was in a second hand everything shop today and they had a box of vinyl records of steam engines. If anyone wants such a thing let me know. Be a real hifi stereo buff.
It’s adorable! ![]()
Interesting thought but a) someone has actually managed to make one of them sort of work regularly and b) you can drive it without the windscreen falling out.
Ploughing on:
Weedy little Type 3 was never going to manage that much snow on its own!
Showing the wrong lights on the way out too…
Wonder if Kent will ever see that much snow again?
Fluffers, innit:
Diesel hydraulic stuff. Locally, I’ve seen a Western; Battleship and Hymek!
Will be on at least one of these two tomorrow, maybe one of the newer ones as well. Over 200mph, turning left on entry ![]()
Did manage to catch this from the bus to work this morning. Class 40 on a Royal Scot special. Duke of Gloucester Standard class 8 loco takes it forward from Crewe I believe. This was at Euston across the HS2 building site.
And off YouTube later in the journey. Jealous of what’s looking like brilliant run.
Bloody lovely! Very distinctive engine note, too - reminds me somewhat of a Class 37 diesel at full chat. Is DoG a four-cylinder engine?
No three cylinder unlike the Britannias which were two. The wiki is worth reading as it has a very interesting back story.
Talking of Cromptons… Alison is the smallest diesel I’ve driven. One of these is the biggest:
I’ll never forget the music as I gave it the beans…
Love it, geekery²
An Envy: I has it ![]()
