I’ll give you one guess as to the answer to that.
I’ve never sent anything back but I have a watch and a laptop, from AliExpress, that I’m happy with. I’ll likely be buying some coffee faff soon too, from there.
My experience was shit - I ordered a cheap watch: I received a shitty, non-functional wired 'phone mic/earset! I complained - politely - I was told the seller would respond; they solidly ignored a couple of messages. So I complained again that I was being scammed and I was immediately banned from the entire platform!
Easy enough to start a new account, but fuck that. Last time I deal with them. Never again.
Gutted, you could have bought a Rolex from Stronzi’s reais land and received a half chewed toaster.
I had a problem and raised a case and AliExpress asked me to send a video of the fault which I did and they accepted this and refunded me quickly.
So my experience with refunds has been rather positive.
Have ordered lots of other stuff and never had a single problem other than the one above.
I took a punt on a 3m stereo pair of Nordost Blue Heaven speaker cable. Obviously not what it purports to be, but it’s well put together and sounds good. Terminations are sound, too.
Think I paid about £20 delivered. I imagine the the quoted specs are optimistic (or bullshit), but pretty good value overall. And I get to fantasise about what it might feel like to be able to afford to spend stupid money on foo (the answer is ‘disappointing’)
Other stuff I’ve ordered has been fine, though I’ve never had to test the returns policy.
If you’re curious about the 100% genuine (ahem) Nordost:
Family heirloom!
So you bought a fake, and got sent a fake but are quite pleased with it even though you have no idea what the real thing is like?
I’ve been considering buying a couple of Lexan Gold CF type A cards. Every time I do a Google search Ali E comes up with offers of half price compared to any “reputable” dealers.
I have to say I’m moderately tempted but I keep thinking that these things are faked to fuck in the far east.
I’ll probably stick to LCE or similar and wonder if I could have saved a couple of hundred quid
There is no fucking way I’d buy anything like memory cards from AliExpress.
I know you’re right.
I’ve flicked the “go on, do it” troll off my shoulder
The last thing you would want is to get a load of pics of a never before seen species in Fettlar/Shetland/UK and you have a fucked memory card!
Yes, exactly.
Why?
Well, I had need of some cheap speaker cable and found some reviews saying that particular one was decent for not much cash. It has proved itself to be that.
I’ve no clue how it compares to Nordost and don’t really care. Buying my own cheap cable along with the terminations and soldering them myself probably wouldn’t have saved me much in any case.
Summary: They’re alright and didn’t cost much.
You found reviews of a fake?
How do you know they were real?
Fake reviews of fake cable? Possibly,
I suppose I took a perilous punt and risked my £20.
Turned out OK, so no tears this time.
I could have recommended a 3m pair of terminated OFC real speaker cables for less than that!
And given you a review as they are the ones I use
Never mind !
Cheaper than Aliexpress?
Wow, even more of a skinflint than me.
Impressive!
I’ve bought one item from them about a 18months ago. I wish I hadn’t, moment of weakness. Nothing they do suggests any worker rights, safety, minimum pay are of any concern. Just don’t buy from them full stop.
