All the Football (Part 2)

Looking forward to the most commercialised World Cup ever, constant interference/self promotion by Trump, only wealthy white people being able to buy tickets and the first 20-0 scoreline.

It’s going to be quite bad. Add to that the fact that 3/4 of the teams don’t belong any fucking where near a world championship competition

It’s not all bad, Scotland drew Haiti, they cunts don’t even have their own island. Come to think of it…

They’ve got plenty , Orkney islands spring to mind

Hahaha, get in.

Yesssss! Take that Arsenal!

I’m expecting the Sky headline to be

“City move second after win over 10 man Sunderland”

Good result for Everton. We seem to be on a decent run of form apart from the Newcastle blip.

I dispair

Salah gone pop.

It’s royal mess.

Salah can’t go around giving interviews like that!

Fucking idiot, he’s toast now* regardless of his past glories.

*perhaps that’s what he wants…

Still a bit sour this morning after the game yesterday. 1. I think the handball law is bollocks. 2. That overhead kick anywhere else on the pitch was dangerous play.

However, Nuno has got the squad playing for the badge. Before he came they looked like a complete shower. They really were utterly appalling. Now, he has J-C Todibo playing excellently well at CH, ditto Mavropanos. He has promoted Freddie Potts from the U21s, who has nailed down the number 6 role and has 2 other youngsters in Magassa and Fernandes in midfield who look like fixtures. In goal, Areola is having his best spell for the club.

Fernandes in particular has a superb all round game, and was the best player on the pitch yesterday. Won’t be long before one of the top of the league clubs are in for him. :face_holding_back_tears:

It’s up front that the biggest problems lie. The recruitment everywhere has been appalling but in attack it has been utter dogshit. Fullkrug is laughable. Not fit and not fit for the prem. Callum Wilson is the other choice… Summerville fades after 65 mins in every game leaving us with no outlet. Unless we buy/ loan in attack, we will go down, because we can’t close games out. Arguably, we should have won at Old Trafford in midweek, and yesterday. We won’t stay up with draws.

I am at least enjoying the games again…

If I remember correctly, it was a ‘fucking hell, we need to do something’ Jan transfer window that resulted in the unlikely but magnificent Hartson/Kitson partnership that was a riot to watch and saved West Ham that season. Another one of those would be handy.

Yes, that was an amazing turn around, and Kind of legendary with me and my best West Ham mate. We have been discussing it at length. West Ham probably got the very best of Hartson, who was an amazing talent. He always hit the target and made the keeper play. A force to be reckoned with. A game I remember v Blackburn where he destroyed Colin Hendry, clattering him so many times, by the end Hartson was waving on the BR physio!

In those days, a bung for 'arry and a deal was done. Nowadays it may be more difficult…

Feeling for Wolves a bit. They’re a mess having been half decent a year or two back.

Other than that short spell when they scored in the first half, they’ve been dreadful.

It’s their fans I feel for, I know what it’s like, I’ve been there!

Yes, I don’t know much about what their grievance is with the owners but evidently it’s been mismanaged quite badly.

I don’t know about the club management but presumably the owners will be preparing for next season in the Championship because they’re not getting 38 pts from their remaining 23 games.

When their owners Fosun bought them they initially transformed the club, they brought in Nuno who got them promoted and then competitive in the PL, had lots of dealings with Mendes who funnelled in some of his talented clients, and they were making all kinds of noises about entering and winning the CL.

Then results dipped, they got rid of Nuno, Mendes stopped giving them first dibs and since then they’ve kind of floundered amidst some poor decision making. When they go down I suspect Fosuns enthusiasm will dwindle even further.

There seems to be a consensus among fans that the team has been poor enough to go down for the proceeding two seasons but was saved by the form of the promoted sides. This season, they’re even more ill equipped and the promoted sides are making more of a go of it.
