The problem is that the PL clubs (some of them anyhow) will always take the view that they pull in more viewers than a Brentford or Bournemouth & that the money can’t be shared equally. Some are also participating in the Champions League & raking in revenue from those gate receipts & that tv money aswell. Other clubs’ owners see that wealth & want a share of it. They’ll always be inclined to gamble.

That’s why what they spend should be tied to gate receipts at some sort of ratio with a cap on ticket prices. It would be much easier to regulate and the likes of Man City wouldn’t be able to sponsor themselves inflating their figures.
