Would make a lovely little holiday home!

Heaps of potential.
Love this, even though its in DetroitâŚ
A stunning house in a stunning location.
Interesting one here, a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright just before he died thatâs finally been built:

Looks to have remained pretty faithful to an FLW aesthetic, which is quite interesting considering the design is at least 65 years old. I wish the article had gone into a bit more on which elements of the house meant that the originalists are unhappy about it. If solely that building codes have changed and must be complied with, it seems mealy-mouthed.
More images and videos can be found here, and it would appear the house is available to rent too (and not as madly priced as I would have expectedâsure ~ÂŁ600 per night isnât cheap, but for what it is, that seems quite reasonable):
Edit: And for the computer science nerds, I did misread the name âDykstraâ and wonder if it was a relative of Edsger Dijkstra.
Love that!
I really like some of the design elements in this one:
Thatâs fabulous, Iâm glad someoneâs finally taken midges into consideration.
X.
Bucket list.
Oh yeah, that would be very cool.
I love all of his houses, especially Fallingwater. I really want to live over a waterfall.
I went to school here until I was about 10. Not sure why this article has just popped up as it was completed a couple of years ago now. A lovely renovation though.
I read that the refurb / conversion this is now completed - there is an extensive review in the FT of last weekend.
I hadnât realised that they had David Chipperfield on the job - check out his refurb of the Neues in Berlin if you get the opportunity
worth the price of entry on its own IMO.
Itâs all-suites, from ÂŁ1400 a night ![]()
Pleased that survived mostly-intact, always loved the architecture - it somehow never felt discordant, even though it was hugely different to pretty much anything nearby. Very Scandinavian - not allowing the architectâs ego to overwhelm the locale ![]()
Actually, damn it, why shouldnât I stay there, at least for one night?
Iâm tentatively starting to flesh out plans for my 60th and I think this one might be a bullet point on the list.
