‘No one is anywhere near insolent enough to ask the obvious question: “Please may we know why are you are speaking like Jason Statham?”’
I hope the speaker puts him in his place when he tries it
She did and
“Despite Hoyle’s request for Johnson to apologise he refused to do so.”
It will be no different the next time. Lesson learnt from Trump, say what you like, never admit you were wrong, never take any responsibility for anything (that is what the Civil Service are there for) and never apologise.
Is there an equivalent to ‘contempt of court’ that can be used?
See ‘parliamentary privilege’
Let’s hope hoyle gets support with ‘ Right to punish members and “strangers” for breach of privilege and contempt;’
Most of the time I read or watch the news, it depresses me massively. But occasionally, you hear an item which raises your spirits. This is one of those…
Boris gets schooled on the detail by Keir, so then goes predictably to mistimed jokes and quips.
These fail miserably (more briefs than Calvin Klein
), so he goes for insults.
This backfires, so Boris decides he needs to be more prepared, not on the material detail, but with more insults!
Meanwhile Gove rubs his hands in glee in the shadows and Sunak is polishing his image for a future close up.
Let’s just hope they ain’t vicious enough to put Sunak in before he is tainted with the inevitable consequence of the economic downturn.
The real questions are when the Tories decide to get rid of him, and who is willing to step up.
It’s clear now that he’s going to be blamed for the awful Covid response, and for the Brexit shambles next year. They need these issues to be in the past, and then a new person can come with a clean slate. No prominent politician will want to come in right now, it’s too hard and you’ll be tarnished.
The other issue is that Sunak will want to leave the Treasury soon, so he’s seen as Mr FreeMoney rather than Mr TaxRise. But he won’t want to come in before Brexit has bottomed out.
Except for ego reasons. “I was Prime Minister, donchaknow”. Consequences be damned.
Maybe, but I think that many are looking at BoJo and thinking that it may not be all it’s cracked up to be. Definitely better to be PM in a good time.
Sunak is outright favourite
If I was him, I’d let gove have it next year, and then go for it
I probably should be a politic commentator
It’s the after show party they’re after. Ozzy Trade Envoy anyone ?
Online government digital ID cards are here. Cummings snuck this in on the back of the Covid response.
Cunt.
Cummings is still an ocean-going cunt tho.
Looks like they are developing a system with zero consultation. Every time I see a government not start a debate on this or not approach it from the view of how do we keep individuals data private and protected I get worried. At this rate, in twenty years time it will be an offence not to have an ID available on demand.
Having a password protected access system to online government services is one thing, an ID culture is something else.
I think that many fairly liberal people have called for id cards recently as the government was using an American company for the id checks for Covid tests. That didn’t seem right.
