Bought Hel these -
better than a bunch of flowers!
Hel did say no flowers. Despite being overjoyed with them, it hasn’t got me out of a wall paneling job this weekend ![]()
Boooo!
Nice panels though ![]()
Spring in the Weald of Kent by the Kentish artist Rowland Hilder
An incredible watercolour - the trees are spectacular.
Seen this a few years ago at its home in Kelvin Grove art museum
Also seen a LS Lowry with no people in it . (go figure) Seascape
The Wind That Rocks The Sea by Paul Cadden
Pencil, ink and gouache on paper - yeah this is not a photograph !
We have this amazing pencil and charcoal artwork at work (Portcullis House). It’s by Kelvin Okafor.
In fact we have some decent art in PCH including a Sir Grayson Perry and a very clever piece by Jez Dolan called Wolfenden. Which is basically the Wolfenden Report of 1957 which eventually led to the decriminalisation of male homosexuality in 1967 which has been translated in to Polari
That’s an incredible portrait
When I look at the last two postings it always amazes me the absolute skill of the artists to produce something that is a photo that isn’t a photo. The intracte detail is so very fucking amazing I am in total fucking awe to their skills
Incredible.
Perhaps not World class, but man am I in the mood for some unashamedly comfy nostalgia just lately…
Norman Wilkinson for a 1940s LM&SR ad.
Monsal Dale in the unlikely event anyone doesn’t recognise it. Trains are long gone but the viaduct is still there, along with some of the finest walking in England.
Where dale ?
Near Winton…
It’s an incredible feat of skill, but as my lovely wife (a wildlife artist and lowly graphic design graduate) likes to say: why not just buy a camera?
I know nothing, and am therefore conflicted.
There’s art, and there’s stuff you’d hang on your wall.
Beyond that, I’m of no further use to this conversation.
