Current Cadburys but also the slimy oily mess that is Galaxy both set a lower bar than Thorntons.

Thorntons chocolate Brazil’s are pretty unbeatable. Thorntons is cheap these days. Tastes have got more sophisticated, but it’s not bad gear. Better than Cadburys that’s for sure.
I used to work in a shop that sold Thorntons.
Honestly, I just think it’s rancid.
The worst used to be getting a Thornton’s Easter egg because you know the person who’d bought it for you was making an effort.
I’d still eat a Cadbury’s Twirl over it any day of the week, even though Kraft have knackered them.
I used to ice names onto those.

The continental used to be decent - Alpini, hazelnut slice, cherry truffle, rum truffle, vanilla truffle.
Their toffee used to be excellent.
Yes, it was OK.
I’m sure it still is.
As you say, tastes have changed and things have moved on.

I got a box of those as a tip at Christmas. When I got home I left them in the kitchen for maybe half an hour while I had a shower and got changed.
When I got back to them there were 2 left…

While Hershey dreck is available over here, Thornton’s is not the worst.

I’ve had those too and I generally prefer dark chocolate, but their milk truffles are my favourites.
