I enjoyed the BBC ‘The Mighty Redcar’ from a few years ago

Used to holiday there every summer when I was a kid. It was more upmarket than Skeg (not that we were - my mum’s entire extended family went - 3 generations, 8-10 adults and 5-6 kids in a hugely and somewhat tattily extended ‘chalet’). It was blissful for a child and even the grown-ups used to let their hair down …

We visited again a few years back. The whole place is scruffier and louder now I’m afraid. Still, the idea that a mass murder might be a possibility is surprising. In the summer, that is. Heaven knows what might happen in a place like that in the winter.

I have been to a dead body dumped in the road, that was a combination of a hit deer and a macdonalds bag

Women being rapped over and over again in the woods, foxes shagging

Body buried in my garden, chicken carcass

My sons a drug dealer and has a handgun now, protein powder and a nerf gun

Neighbours have a huge cannabis grow, tomatoes

Gun shots definitely not a car backfiring, car backfiring

Terrorists walking down the road with rifles, farmer on his land with a shotgun

Plus many more I can’t remember

When I was in offices overlooking Bishopsgate there was a bomb scare. “Suspect device” etc. They closed off the road, told us to stand away from the windows etc. This is a very busy part of London.

Anyway, about half an hour later the angriest looking police officer I have ever seen came stomping down the middle of the (obviously deserted) road dragging an abandoned Deliveroo “warm box” behind him

All grist for the mill in my line of work.

Just yesterday somebody pressed an emergency help point to announce that there was a “dead body between 2 platforms and it looked like there is a bomb strapped to him”.

Yep, a homeless guy asleep (you could hear him snoring) and he had a plastic shopping bag

I was minded of this around 3.30am when I heard what sounded like a couple of shots, but could indeed have been a car backfiring.

Although around here there is occasional gunfire. A while back it was some bellend walking out of a pub in Tulse Hill and firing his pistol in the air because he though he was gangsta. He got super-arrested

Sick

It’s clearly deliberately cut, that much is obvious from the photos. I’m just confused as to why? Usually it’s housing developers trying to remove trees that they view as “in the way”, but this was clearly a lot of effort for no discernible end result.

This the tree that featured in Robin Hood film with Kevin Costner …it’s beside a section of Hadrians Wall

Set an example, lock the fuckers up if/when caught, or community service in stocks at the sight of the felling.
