Get an FR-66 has been on my wish list for ages.
I’ve also got an Io Gold and it works really well in the Groovemaster arm, even with the really heavy Arche headshell the weights that come with the arm are enough.

The FR66 are very expensive for such an old arm I would probably go for an Ikeda 407 first.
I think fr66 is too long, fr64s should be a good call, and less spendy
You might need the extra heavy counterweight for a 20g cartridge, depending on your choice of headshell.
Ikeda arms have some strange alignment things going on (Ask guy) Samples seem variable also. The Arche headshell on the GM MK II is borderline too heavy. FR64s and you won’t loose a penny trying it.
Never heard of that, looks lovely but I would personally be very nervous of having a balsa wood based arm.
I have the FR S3 on a FR64s with a Ltd, they are getting expensive though. The Orsonic AV101B which was the heaviest one they did (I think) might be worth a look but they seem to fetch £100+ as well now.
Balsa is incredibly strong. I thought it seemed perfect for an IO. I could be wrong though.
Looks like your correct in terms of strength compared to weight.
I think I was just remembering how easy these seemed to break as a child.
You’re
I remember being amazed when I was told that balsa was a hardwood.
My Io Gold is also on an AN Arm 3. Works well, easy to set up.
RB250 for the win👍
